Easter Service

I especially enjoyed the Easter service Sunday as the pastor was so wonderful explaining Jesus's path to the cross and the reason he said Father why have you forsaken me.  This is something that has bothered me for along time.  Now it no longer is a question for me.  Thank you Father for sending  your son to save us from our sins and for the Holy Spirit that lives within us.

On Easter Sunday we had people Baptized.  At first there were only 10 or so.  When I left for the next service to take place there were already 14 people Baptized and another 14 + that were in line to be baptized.

I left the service feeling so wonderful so when Al told me that Harris Teeter had a big sale on that you buy 2 get 3 free I new I wanted to participate.  So I went to the store and purchased a lot of groceries.   I called the church and asked them if I could bring them by and they returned my call with times that would work for me to stop and leave the groceries.

When I arrived I rang the bell and a friend of mind from my previous Church opened the door much to my surprise since I didn't know she was now a member of my new Church.  She introduced me to the lady who I had talked to on the phone,

To make a long story short,  Denise who I had spoken to on the phone had been praying for a family that was baptized that Sunday morning and who desperately needed help.  She began praying for assistance.  And as you know God works in mysterious ways.  Praise God he gave her the answer she was praying to get.  Groceries to help with the needs of the family that she had asked God to help.

Chill bumps, God was present.

How awesome our God is, praise him and love him each minute of the day  I will not say that I do that because I am human but I do try to let him know how much he means in my life!

Love to you all.

Christmas Eve

This year we only had ten of the group show up.  Elizabeth, Erik, Chris, Maria, Chris, Lisa, Sarah, Jessica,
Pop Pop and Aamee.

Jerry passed away the day after Thanksgiving but was with us
in his little box in the living room.  Enjoying the evening.

Rick and Lisa (tator) were out of town visiting her dad.

We talked with Stacy and Aaron on the phone for an hour.  We were able to see them in Asia and talk to them almost like they were in the room.  The only thing is they didn't have smell a vision so they couldn't smell all the good food only see it.  (groan they did when they saw all the good food)  They were enjoying hot chocolate while talking with us and trying to get awake since it was very early where they were.

We had dinner after the telephone call and all were starved.  We had a wonderful meal with great conversation.  The chicken casserole (recipe compliments of my Aunt Norma) and the corn casserole(recipe compliment of Nancy Steppe) were a great success.  The mashed potatoes, carrots/turnips, green bean casserole, brocolli casserole, mac and cheese and ham didn't go untouched either.

Since we ate so much for dinner no one ate dessert.  We got out the plastic gas and everyone filled them with left overs to eat another day!  Sarah and Jessica made some awesome looking cakes!  Too bad we couldn't eat them.

We all sat down in the living room in front of the Christmas tree and fireplace and began the annual gift giving.

You were with us for a while

The tree looked beautiful with all the presents under it so we made lots of pictures to share with others.

Jessica and Sarah enjoyed their stockings and even wore some of the items found in the stockings.  Chris and Maria enjoyed their stockings.  Chris was especially happy with his new jacket that he tried on and made sure it would fit.

All in all it was wonderful.  The food, fireplace, Christmas tree, candles and the most wonderful part enjoying family and being thankful for what God has given us.

Hope you enjoyed the family pictures.
